Well, its New Years Eve. It's time to get the party started. Just remember one thing PLEASE. If you are driving, be the designated driver. Do not drink and drive. It will ruin you Whole year/life, and cost you a lot of money, not to mention you or someone else might die because of it.. No amount of funn should cost you soooooo much. Unless you want to meet Bubba or/and Tiny in your jail cell.

I have only recieved a couple of pictures for the Halloween party as of yet. However, they are suppose to be on their way so I can post some more.
The top picture of the winner of the costume contest this year. Greg and his best friend, haha!
The second picture is a Cow, which is utter disgusting(small humor), and a flying pig. Their Identity will remain anonymous for personal safety reasons, haha Just kidding. I was given permission to post them.

The third picture has got to be the funniest outfit I think I have seen in years. You have to know the person that it is to be able to appreciate it fully. Nearly wet myself when I first saw it! ! I think the next one has Barry as the grim reaper, and the flying pig. I am sure there are a lot better ones on the way.
There are more, and will be even more in time, listed on the www.flyhometolookout.com , will be about the 30 year anniversary part. Will post more whenever they become avalible to me.
Wayne has also posted another sled run flight from Whitwell. Any day in a hang glider is a good one! ! ! ! It was too smooth, and not many bumps to play with, but great launch and landing!!

This was the Flight Parks entry into the Christmas parade this year. On the back of the truck was a stand whereby two of Santa's elves rocked around the Christmas tree, literally. The Elves again this year were none other than Rick jr. and his girlfriend Tami. There were many others that walked along side of the float and threw candy at the crowd. Doris and Nancy carried the banner again this year. Sorry it is so late in getting posted, however someone had to take up my slack since I was on the road working, again.

This is the most important man in my life, my Dad. It was really good to see him for the holiday season. I wish that we lived closer so that we could spend more time together. One of these days maybe we will be able to get together more than once a year. Lord keep him safe this New Year!
When I got there yesterday, he had a song stuck in his head for a couple of days that He or my step-mom couldnt figure out what it was. Even tho my dad cant really sing I was able to pick it out for him..........it is now posted, haha! There you go Dad!

You know how I like the shots of unusual things. I came across this on my way to see my Dad, in Ohio. I will let you put your own caption on this one, I have too many to choose from.

In the winter time we, meaning all the hang glider pilots, really go thru a dry spell for flight time. We have get togethers and talk about past flights, plan grand things for the upcoming flying season, set goals, and basically reminess. However, sometimes a nice winters day comes along and we do get to play. And oh what a treat that is. But mostly we watch the weather channel like cabin fever kids. When one of us has the time, and takes the time, a home made video is made of a nice flight or two. Here, for all my fellow pilots and friends, is a video for you to kind of sooth the emptiness of the season. Thanks to Wayne for his efforts. I am sure that this is just the start of them. I, along with a couple of others, are anxious to make our own and share it with the world !

This is my Aunt Sue. When my Mom died in '85, she basically adopted me, and I her. My Uncle Elbert passed on in '91. She has had a very rough time here lately. Between blood clots, stints, a 4 year old running around like a maniac, being brought back from the brink of death, and thats just the basics without going into too many details. She's doing good now, and getting around like nothing has happened. She's not one to complain about anything. I wish that I could give her an award for just being who she is, however they dont make them big enough. Please keep her on your prayer list. Merry Christmas to all !

A couple of fun pictures for the season.

The top one is Jimmy after being con-ed by his 4 year old son to put his puzzle together instead of having to do it himself and behave.

The deviled eggs has been a family joke for many years, and here Crystal is joking around with one.

And Shelia & Crystal caught in a surprise moment.

We had Christmas lunch at Bob & Shelia's again this year. She really out did herself this year! Everyone was able to sit at tables, and I didnt have to sit at the kiddie table, haha. Not that I ever minded, mind you. As long as I was able to get to the wonderful food.
The food was most excellent once again. If I ate like this everyday, I would never be able to run off of a mountain again. They dont make gliders that big !

I hope that you have the best holiday season possible. During our times of festivities, please remember our troops in your prayers, and hopes.
Remember the reason for the season,,, the Birth of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Merry Christmas !

A good friend of mine, Shawn who works for the same company that I do, took this picture. During his last deployment he was sent to the Florida area. We often call each other to just see how each others day is going, how the testing is progressing, etc... what friends do when they have a few minutes. He called me the other day and said, " Remember that time you called me from the beach? I thought I would return the favor, haha". I am also teaching him about photography, and how to edit them on the computer, etc.... When I downloaded his last set of pictures, this one was in them. I told him that I thought it was just on okay shot, however one thing was definitely wrong with it. HE took the shot instead of me! ! !

What a beautiful covered bridge. Tis the season !

This would make a good painting.

This for north in North Carolina, there is still some spanish moss. Not nearly as much as down south, but can still enjoy the beauty of it.

This is Kure Beach, North Carolina. I was there testing for 1 day, and I got to enjoy sunrise that morning. I just wish that it would have been a clear day, instead of overcast.

The Coke polar bear enjoying a nice cool drink.

The top picture is Ann and the Sheriff of Dade county.
She always puts on a fabulous party for the " Toys for Kids" drive every year that the sheriffs department has. You can see all the toys behind them, that was donated this year. This doesn't include all the monies that was contributed also.
The bottom picture shows most of the people that showed up at the party. Thanks to Barry for taking these pictures this year.
Kudos to the hang gliding community once again for their donations & gifts this year for the less fortunate.

This is Doris, showing off her handywork tonight. She started preparing all the food for over 50-60 people at 1 o'clock this afternoon. She really out did herself on this meal! The salmon was so very good. Nancy did a great job with the decorations. I am sure there was others that helped out, but I dont have those names. You know who you are,, and thanks for helping her with it !
There is not enough words that I can write to explain what this woman does for the flight park, and for the community. She has more things going on than I could ever list. I think she has adopted all of us in the flight park, or so it seems. She is like the den mother of a bunch of us kids. She give the term, "Social Director" a whole new meaning. She has a heart of gold, and the patience of Job. She is truely loved by all that know her. We that do know her, can Never repay all the kindness and love that she has showed us in the many years that she has been here. I am honored to call her my friend !

Here is some of the folks that showed up tonight.

After the main party, all of us that brought " White Elephant" gifts. Here is Robin Tabor opening hers. It was a lot of funn. I wound up with a Nutcracker coffee mug, and some candy.

I couldnt believe that I actually was able to attend the last semi-formal ballroom dancing Christmas party. I figured that I was going to miss them all. This was the band that played tonight. They arent the "Just Reeves" band, but they were good for the occasion, and the setting.

How fitting that there was a gorgious sunset as I was leaving Arkansas. I did my very best on this deployment, and I felt very thankful to be thru. I was out for 19 days on this one. However, I am also very thankful for this much work, especially at this time of the year !
I really like Celine Dion( as you can tell), however I think this, and Josh Grobins' version, is the best that I have ever listened to! I use to play this on the piano for my Mom while she sat beside me, oh so many years ago.

I wonder if this red-tailed hawk is praying for his breakfast?

In Russellville, Arkansas, they had these flags place in the shape of the state. There are over 500 flags place here in honor of the Vietnam vets for Veterans day. Wish I could have flown over and took a pic of it ! It wasnt very far from Mt. Nebo, which I really enjoy flying from!

Ya Think????? dahhh

I had to do some testing close to Tunica, Mississippi. I can honestly say,,, I didnt gamble once on this entire trip. And I was close to 3 different towns with casinos in them. Kind of proud of myself to be able to say that! !

You know I like unusual places, and things so,,,, call this one----Shoe tree?

This was the Hollywood Wax Museum, in Branson, Missouri. Like I posted before there were more things to do in this small town, than I've ever seen. From Andy Williams, to the Osmonds, Roy Rogers & Dale Evans Museums, Elvis impersonator, Ozark Mountain crafts,etc...... I wasnt very impressed by the figures outside of this place, so I didnt want to be dissappointed inside either, so I passed on this one. John Wayne does look nice tho.

They are building the biggest replica of the Titanic here. They have over 400 original items from the original ship. I dont know how much business they do, but apparently, quite well. I have only one question----why? I have never been the sharpest tool in the shed so I can honestly say--I don't get it. Needless to say,,, I didnt pay to get in there.

As you have probably already noticed, there isnt any music. I replaced it with my safety tip for the holiday season. It is meant to serve as a warning to anyone that is thinking about a live Christmas tree. This isnt a hoax, or a doctored video. It is real life stuff, and it happens every year. I dont know the numbers, however, one is too many. All it will take is you watching this 1 time, to see how important it is to keep water in the stand under it, or go an alternative route. We have always known that it was dangerous, did you know how fast you can loose everything because of neglect?

I spent the weekend in Branson, Missouri. What a tourist town. I have never seen the likes of it anywhere that is soo condensed in such a small area. The Ozark mountains are a beautiful place. I will it wasnt close to rain all weekend. This was the last weekend for all the shows for the season. From tomorrow until March sometime, this place turns into a ghost town. Half the hotels and restaurants close down for the winter. Started to go and see the Osmonds last night,,,,, however,,,,,, I had a great supper and,,,,, never mind, hahaha.

A buddy of mine sent this to me. Its a pretty neat new clock. The hours or in military time, however, it took alot of time to write this program.

COOL clock
1st Line is Sec's
2nd Line is min's
3rd line is Hrs.
4th Line is Days
5th Line is months
6th Line is Years
A new one!! Look closely at it!! Amazing!!

I know some hunters that would love to be able to get this close to a wild turkey. I still cant believe I was able to get this shot!

Get your kicks on>>>>>

When they say a cold front here in Kansas, they meant it. When I got out of the car last night at my hotel, it was 2 degrees. From here until the time I should be finished, there will be a heat wave coming thru. The highs during the day should be in the upper 50's. SUP with this stuff?

I was in the town where Amelia Earhart was born yesterday. Talking about an interesting woman. I am really surprised hollywood hasnt made a movie about this woman. What a great story it would be. Guarantee the plot would be more interesting than--Titantic, or some of the garbage that has come out of there! I would have liked to have met her.
Heres a few fast facts:

Birth Name:
Amelia Mary Earhart
Born:
July 24, 1897
Birthplace:
Atchison, Kansas
Died:
July 2, 1937, en route from Lae, New Guinea to Howland Island
Her attempt to fly around the world, came short only 7,000 miles, out of 29,000. You really should Google this admirable Pilot !
I wish that would have been able to get a couple of pictures of this fabulous womans birthplace. However, I was working and there were no towers in the vicinity of it. And I would never take time away from work for personal reasons. To me, that would be unethical and totally unexceptable. (that was my disclaimer in case my boss reads this, hahaha)

You may have to click on the first picture to be able to see the guys out front there. When you think that you are having a bad day~~ think about the guys there ! What a terrible existance.
Here's a riddle for you~~ what is a good soldiers worst nightmare & a bad soldiers reality????
U.S. Penitentiary Leavenworth. If you would like to know all the interesting stuff about this place, just google it. Amazing that the original 480 inmates had to march 2 1/2 miles every day to build the place. Their reward,,, they get to spend their sentence in the place they help to build.

I would wager that the crime rate around this town is real low, especially in the military.

This area north of Kansas City, Kansas, was just breath taking. Well, maybe it was the freezing water that I stepped in to get this shot that was breath taking, haha! You know photographers will do anything to get the shot! brrrr. Besides, I had some clean socks in the car.
