I Fly 4 Funn
When once you have tasted flight, you will always walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward. For there you have been, and there you will always long to be. Leonardo da Vinci

In Trenton, Ga. this weekend, they had their annual Family festival. Lookout Mountain Flight park was represented again, with a Hang glider, and simulator. Keith volunteered to do it this year, and I agreed to help him. However, this year some things got mixed up, and we weren't able to put any kids in it. The wrong equipment was sent. The lady in charge of the Festival thanked us for at least setting it up anyway. And, thanked us for what we do for the community.
Maybe things will be different next year?!
If anyone in the hang gliding community knows what kind of glider this is,,,please leave me a comment. It's before Keith & my time. I think it's a Seagull?? just a guess. I think they quit making these in the early '80s.
If you liked Susan Boyle's perfomance below,,,then I know that you will love this one equally as well ! ! ! ! Somebody(a recording studio) missed the boat on this one ! There was only 1,000 of these cd's originally made. Enjoy !

The YouTube information is not available for embedding, so I'm afraid that the link will have to do. I was as guilty as everyone on the show, when she first walked out on the stage.
This is the the real meaning of the saying--- Never judge a book by it's cover. I have NO doubt that you will enjoy this, if you will only click on it, and give it a listen.

It was a fly day today, for a lot of people. I was feeling under the weather, so I chose to rest. As you can see from this shot,,, the wind sock is showing a little wind in the LZ. Keith was able to utilize it, and make a no-stepper landing this afternoon, in front of everyone.
Doris is shown here, ringing the dinner bell, for the first time this year. It is a lot of work on her to do this every Saturday night, for all of us here at Lookout Mountain Flight park.
Menu tonight: Ham, green beans, salad, rolls, and desserts. I have miss these events. Not only for the food, but for all the friends, and all the socializing.
Thus, it starts ! finally

Most of the southeast states today, had some fairly serious weather. Lookout Mt. was not neglected. These next couple of pics was taken on my deck, with my camera phone. I kept waiting for some of the glass to break. The wind was howling. The top wind speed this afternoon was 67mph. Can't wait to see the Jeep, to see if I'm going to need a new paint job, arggggg.

Yesterday morning....below freezing and a dusting on the ground. I hope it didn't catch too many people with their gardens already planted. I listen a bunch of different people before I plant mine. The guys at: Nurserys, Lowe's & Home Depot. If they say that the farmers think it's going to freeze again,,,I will wait until they start getting their supplies/plants in. I hope that this logic pays off this year !

Some people may not be old enough to remember this Great American, and fantastic comedian, Red Skelton. I don't feel this need any explanation at all. Just enjoy the clip.

I've been accused of being an optimist by a lot of different people. The below pictures kind of shows what I think about that.
All of these tender sprouts, are tomato plants. BUT, not just any tomato plants.
You will probably see the commercials on the TV soon, if you haven't already. The "Giant" tomato TREEs are suppose to get 7 feet tall, and the 'maters are suppose to be a Pound each.
As you can see, I have a few of them planted, and will be giving them to a bunch of friends that have gardens, to give them the best chance that I can, that at least Someone will grow one of these monsters. If they turn out like I am hoping(opps, there's the optimist again), then I will have plenty of seeds if anyone wants some next year. I will then know that it is a for real deal !
Stay tuned,,, news later on the progress.
