Just one of the organizations that we, here at Lookout Mountain Flight Park, support is the DCMR. The way that I, and others, look at it is who is better equipped to get a pilot out of the trees on the unfortunate days when those rare occasions happen.
Below is an email addressed to the hang gliding community from the Chief of the DCMR.

All of the guys involved with Dade County Mountain Rescue wish to say a hearty “Thank You” to you and to all of the hang glider community for their kindness shown at the appreciation dinner you hosted. Your generosity is felt by all, as it allows us to better serve the citizens of Dade County and visitors to our area. Your continued interest and support of our team moves us ever closer to our goal of purchasing a much needed vehicle.
